A Play About the Arrival of Humans on the Steppe
This activity gets students to think about the impact of the arrival of the first humans on the steppes.
Introduction
What was life like on the steppe before humans arrived? How did it change when the first humans began living and working on the steppe?
Preparation
Make masks or costumes of the animals and plants of the steppe. (Use recycled materials wherever possible.)
Activity
Write a short play that gives imaginary reactions of steppe plants and animals to the coming of humans to settle on the steppe for the first time.

Remember that humans brought new species of plants and animals with them that will need masks as well.
