Joe Bull's article on the role biodiversity offsets can play in
conserving highly mobile species such as the saiga will feature on
the front cover of the journal Frontiers in Ecology and the
Environment!
"The static boundaries of
protected areas are often ineffective for conserving migratory
species such as the saiga antelope (Saiga tatarica). Scientists are
now exploring new conservation strategies, involving biodiversity
offsets, to ensure the survival of such "moving target"
species."
The journal will be published in May 2013.
