Saiga Conservation: Setting the Roadmap for the Years to Come

The Third Meeting of Signatories ** will set the roadmap for international conservation action for the critically endangered saiga antelope to 2020, as well as presenting the current conservation status and discussing a new National Reporting format for MOU Signatories.
The Third Meeting of Signatories will be preceded by the Technical Workshop for saiga antelope experts (26-27 October), which will see the key topics of wildlife health and disease, the mitigation of impacts of infrastructure development on saiga antelope and its habitat, as well as illegal trade and poaching on the agenda. The latest research regarding the cause of the catastrophic mass mortality of more than 134,000 saiga which occurred in Kazakhstan in May 2015 will be presented. More than 70 participants are expected from the saiga range states and internationally.
